Welcome to Camp Melodrama!

Camp Melodrama, our summer performing arts workshop for children ages 7-17, finished its 15th year on August 17, 2009.  For 2010, Camp Melodrama will return for its 16th year, July 19 - August 16.  Enrollment opens in March - reserve space early as this great program always fills up!

Why Camp Melodrama?

Camp Melodrama was created to fulfill the requests of the community to provide wide-ranging instruction in the theater arts for young people. Now in its 15th year, Camp Melodrama has given exciting and creative summer experiences to hundreds of kids as they learn about and create first hand the magic of theater!

Who teaches Camp Melodrama?

The Camp Melodrama teaching staff is chosen for its unique talent and ability to communicate theatrical and performing arts skills to young people. The Melodrama has the advantage of using working professionals in the theater arts field to bring excellent training and experience to Camp Melodrama participants.

What do kids learn at Camp Melodrama?

The program includes over 80 hours of instruction and rehearsal including creative dramatics, stage movement, improvisation, singing and musical interpretation, dance, stagecrafts and other related topics.

At the conclusion of the four week session, there will be two performances for the parents, family and friends of the participating students. Each student will receive a Camp Melodrama T-Shirt.
